Feels like Fall

Hard to believe it is the end of August....today we have a pigroast to end the summer gatherings....well that is not true..one more weekend of camping on Labour day weekend....of which I do not camp out....my family camps out and I visit the camp ground during the day....haha...it is always the weekend before school starts and I like to have that weekend to prepare myself for the coming week......I am unfortunately also working part of that weekend.....
Made some fun nursing uniform tops for work....will make a couple more to use up some of the fabric I bought on a whim because it was on sale.....I am going to make a long sleeved flannel top for my jeans as well...I have cut out the pattern...we will see how it works out.....I have seen lots of nice fall fabric...I have some patterns in mind...
Going to Michigan next week to watch a baseball game and do some back to school shopping...the kids are excited!!
Baking a couple of cakes for the pig roast today.....

Happy Thursday....

Do you know why it is a happy one? My hubby left for a 4 day golfing trip and the house is very quiet.....I think I will enjoy that...no meal preparation and just a lot of sewing....I will enjoy the outdoors and just enjoy the quiet as my younger teen will be home from Europe next week...the house will fill with excitement then....I am thinking about back to school already...thinking about the driving schedule...one going to University and the other grade 10...slow down life...you are moving too quickly......
I have a few sewing plans in mind....I have enjoyed making some fun uniform tops and now I would like to learn to make some uniform pants......that will be a winter project....I have extended my sewing room into the main basement.....more room for fabric storage and hanging my unfinished pieces....

Ikea

I had a nice road trip to Oakville yesterday....got back before dinner today...great visit with great friends.....did a little shopping and lots of yummy eating and a little bit of tasty drinking......got some good finds at Ikea...a new sewing lamp and some kitchen gadgets and I can't leave Ikea without candles!!

Happy Sunday...

Well...I did not have my surgery... cancelled at the last minute....doctor ran out of time.....I knew it was a possibility as he just put me on standby.....darn..now I have to go through that anxiety again....and another bowel prep.....
Today I am home alone....everyone is gone....I will just sew and drink coffee...have groceries to do and I can do some tidying up.....it rained over night so I can skip the watering of plants....

Good Morning......today is my surgery day....I am hungry..weak and anxious......I want to get it done and over with!!
My lap top is in the shop..probably getting wiped clean....that would be unfortunate but I think that is what has to happen....I screwed it up badly...according to the computer tech.....I am a clicker but I guess this time my clicking caused a big problem....so no pics until I get my own computer back.....Have a great weekend...I know I will have a very uncomfortable weekend but hopefully the surgery will be behind me...and it will be in more ways than one!!

I have nothing really to talk about today...another day of errands so my daughter has everything for her trip to Europe tomorrow...I will miss her...but she will have fun with relatives.....she needs a little change of pace and then she will be ready to tackle grade 10 when she gets back....my Alli is working just about everyday and she just flies in and flies out....tomorrow back to reality...back to work for two days and then my surgery on Friday...really not looking forward to that!!! Just want to get it over with!!

P.S....I have been sewing but the project I am working on now is not so enjoyable...another dress but the fabric is a bit fussy....
P.P.S....my laptop is in the shop getting fixed...so no pics for now and perhaps all my pics will be wiped out....yikes....

August Already????

Hard to believe it is August already!!...time is flying...it is another beautiful hot day today....we had a fantastic fun time in LongPoint this past weekend with friends....it was fun to spend time with the two couples and their kiddos...lots of good food, drink and laughs.....the water was a bit cold but so refreshing.....
I am just doing errands today..a little bit of sewing...had coffee and a swim at my Dad's place....going to get the final stuff for my Maddi's trip to Europe...she leaves on Wednesday...she is so excited...I am excited for her!!
